Hyderabad: Speeding car mows down kid who was running after kite
The mishap occurred when K. Hemanth who was running across a road chasing his kite was hit by a speeding car.
Hyderabad: A nine-year-old boy, who was flying kites, was killed in an accident in Ibrahimpatnam on Sunday.
The mishap occurred when K. Hemanth who was running across a road chasing his kite was hit by a speeding car.
Police said Kappari Hemanth was the only son of Narsimha, a daily wage labourer, and Padma, a housewife. They are residents of Jangala Bsthi in Ibrahimpatnam.
Hemanth was studying in Class I in a nearby private school. On Sunday morning, he and his friends were flying kites near the BSNL office. When Hemanth's kite went missing he ran chasing it and ran across a road.
Meanwhile, a speeding car heading from Hyderabad towards Ibrahimpatnam hit Hemanth. Hemnath flew in the air and fell some distance away.
He was rushed to the nearby Government Civil Hospital where he died in the evening.
Based on a complaint from his father, police registered a case against the car driver who is absconding. The body was handed over to the boy’s family after post-mortem.
