Kerala effects total rejig of senior police officers

Thiruvananthapuram: In a major shuffle in police top brass, DGP (Coastal police) B.S. Mohammed Yasin has been made the Intelligence chief, replacing R. Sreelekha.
While DGP (headquarters) Rajesh Dewan was transferred to the post of ADGP (North), ADGP (Armed Police Battalions) Mr Nitin Agarwal was posted as ADGP (Crimes) to head the Crime Branch.

P. Vijayan, who was recently promoted to IG rank and posted as IG (Protection of Civil Rights) was transferred to the post as IG Ernakulam range. The present IG (Ernaku-lam-range) S. Sreejith and IG (Training) Mahipal Yadav were posted as IG (Crimes) at Crime Branch.
G. Lakshman, managing director of Travancore Cements, was posted as IG (Security) ADGP Tomin Thachankary, who was serving as managing director of Kerala Books and Publications Society, was posted as ADGP (Coastal Police). Present ADGP (North Zone) was shifted to the post of ADGP (Battalion) and present ADGP (Prisons) Anilkant was posted as ADGP (Headquarters).
ADGP and KSEB chief vigilance officer K. Padmakumar was posted as Kerala Police Academy director. The present IG (Crimes) Balaramkumar Upadhyay will be posted as Kerala Police Housing Construction Corporation managing director.
IG (Security) Vijaya Sreekumar was posted as IG (Protection of Civil Rights) and DIG (AP Battalion) Shefeen Ahamed as DIG (Administration) in police headquarters. SP A. Akbar was posted as SP (Intelligence) at Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau and Uma Behera as SP Vigilance Northern-range in Kozhikode.
R. Nishanthini as SP Vigilance special cell in Thiruvananthapuram replaces S. Rajendran who had initiated an inspection at Additional Chief Secretary K.M. Abraham's residence. An earlier order to post Nishanthini at Vigilance had kicked up a row as the vigilance probes Nishanthini and her husband M.G. Rajamanickam, the present KSRTC MD.
SP Jacob Job was transferred to Crime Branch Economic Offence Wing in Kottayam and SP V. Gopal Krishnan as AIG in police headquarters. Alex John who was newly inducted into service, was posted as SP (Women cell).
