Bengaluru: CCTVs at SSLC, PUC exam centres
There are about 3,300 SSLC examination centres across the state, out of which 1,390 centres are already equipped with CCTV cameras.
BENGALURU: The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) and Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) have decided to install CCTV cameras at all the examination centres this year for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) and Pre-university course (PUC) examinations, scheduled to be held in March.
KSEEB Director Sumangala V. said, “We are taking all the necessary precautions to avoid any malpractice during the examination.The proposal to install CCTV cameras in all centres has already been submitted to the state government and we will be completing the procedure before the examinations begin.”
There are about 3,300 SSLC examination centres across the state, out of which 1,390 centres are already equipped with CCTV cameras. The installation process for the remaining centres will be completed soon.
Similarly, the DPUE has installed CCTV camera in many centres and
they will be set up at remaining ones soon.
“Last year itself we had plans to install CCTV cameras at all the examination centres, but could not do so for various reasons.
But this year every centre will have CCTV, “said a DPUE official. Last year cameras were installed only in sensitive PU examination centres, but this year the board has decided to ensure them in all the centres.
A special squad would carry out checks at sensitive centres to make sure that no malpractice takes place.
