Kamal Haasan to announce tour schedule on January 18
Kamal who has plans to float his own party, has said he was being cautious as he wants to build an organisation that would outlast him.
Chennai: Close on the heels of ‘superstar’ Rajinikanth, who has declared his intention to launch his own political party and contest from all the 234 Assembly seats in Tamil Nadu in the next Assembly elections, his contemporary star, Kamal Haasan, is all set to kick-start his political debut on January 26. The schedule will be announced on January 18.
Kamal who has plans to float his own party, has said he was being cautious as he wants to build an organisation that would outlast him. He will launch a whistle-blower app - Maiyam Whistle, which aims to encourage and enable citizens expose corruption in the state, soon. “From January 26, my journey to meet people will start. The complete schedule will be available in the next issue of Ananda Vikatan,” the 63-year-old actor said during an awards function.
Haasan, a contributor to the popular Tamil weekly magazine Ananda Vikatan, had in his previous column, tacitly expressed his interest to work with superstar Rajinikanth.
On his political strategy, he wrote in his column, “I would not antagonise my friends to secure my position like usual politicians. Nor is the youth ready to continue under such leadership. I would attempt to reach out to elders and friends too.”
