GHMC to seek slum federation help to improve city's sanitation

The civic body would conduct a series of meetings with the associations before initiating action against them.

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has decided to seek the help of Slum Development Federations (SDF) to raise awareness among public on how to improve sanitation.  

Greater Hyderabad Municiapal Corporation commissioner M. Dana Kishore said that the corporation would hold meeting with hawkers’ associations and slum development federations to explain ramifications of open garbage dumping. He said that the civic body would conduct a series of meetings with the associations before initiating action against them. 

He also said that sanitation in the city cannot be improved without public participation and appealed citizens to play active role in making Hyderabad “swachh and Shandaar”.
