1,400-km Telangana Highways to be upgraded
The highways ministry has agreed to fund the conversion of over 1,400 km of state highways into National Highways.
Hyderabad: The Union road, transport and highways ministry has in principle agreed to fund the conversion of over 1,400 km of state highways into National Highways and to develop them into at least 4-lane corridors. Officials said the Centre had asked the Telangana government to submit the details of roads.
Roads and buildings minister T. Nageswara Rao had submitted a list of state highways for upgrading to Union minister Nitin Gadkari. List of roads proposed to be developed into NHs: Bodhan-Basara-Bhainsa; Nizampet-Narayankhed-Bidar; Madnoor-Bodhan-Nizamabad; Hyderabad-Moinabad-Che-vella-Manneguda-Kodangal-Karnataka border; Kodad-Mir-yalaguda-Devarakonda-Kal-wakurthy-Jadcherla; Karim-nagar-Sircilla-Kamareddy-Yellareddy-Pitlam; Sircilla-Si-ddipet-Jangaon; Manchiryal-Asifabad-Rebbana-Chanda-pur; Nirmal-Manda-Khanapur-Mallapuram-Raikal-Jagityal junction; Suryapet-Khammam-Aswaraopet-Rajahmundry; Eturunagaram-Kuntala
