Andhra Pradesh awards A' grade to Andhra University
The university had recently entered into MoUs with several international varsities, including the University of California.
Visakhapatnam: Andhra University was awarded with the A grade by the AP State Council of Higher Education, the only university in the state to make the cut.
The top grade was awarded by the council after it assessed the teaching, infrastructure and learning resources, research and consultancy activities, student support and progression at the university.
“We hope for a much better grading in the NAAC assessment as the peer team was content with the best practices in teaching and learning, curriculum design, consultancy, research and other activities of the varsity,” he said.
The university had recently entered into MoUs with several international varsities, including the University of California, Berkley and Stanford University, in the areas of research and academic collaborations. Andhra University also made it to the band of 601-800 best higher education institutions in the 2015-16 Times Higher Education world rankings.
On other issues, university officials clarified that they did not allot land to any private organisation on a permanent basis.
