Erring Teacher not qualified: KCPCR
Karnataka Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KCPCR), which is investigating an allegation of corporal punishment and humiliation by a teacher at an ICSE school in Ulsoor, has found that the accused teacher does not have the required qualifications.
After meeting the school representatives, KCPCR chairperson Kripa Alva said that the child was subjected to corporal punishment. “However, there is no evidence whether child's pant was removed or not. This is difficult to prove," she added.
"We also found that the class teacher is not qualified to teach. Initially she was just a helper and later she was made the class teacher. We have instructed the school to immediately remove the teacher. In this regard we would be sending order in writing," she said.
She also confirmed that the school lacks CCTV cameras and other safety measures. " We have directed the school to get everything in place as early as possible," she added.
