Chennai: Minister meets World Bank officials
The World Bank was had earlier sanctioned Rs 2,685.91 crore to the Tamil Nadu government for the upgrading.
CHENNAI: The state health department has reached out to World Bank to discuss projects aimed at better hygiene services and reducing maternity rate in the state. Health minister C Vijayabhaskar met World Bank officials on Friday.
The second phase of the existing hygiene plan is proposed to be implemented in the state by the health department and recommendation by the Centre to the World Bank is awaited.
The World Bank officials visited the government hospitals in the city including the Tambaram Government Hospital and emergency care wards at the government hospital in Injambakkam, that would get modern equipment for better maternity and emergency care.
