YS Jagan Mohan Reddy told to appear before court
The ED charged the accused under Sections 3 and 4 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
Hyderabad: The Special CBI Court of the city took cognisance of another chargesheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act against YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Rajya Sabha member Vijay Sai Reddy and Penna Group of Industries chairman P. Pratap Reddy in land allotment to Penna Group in the illegal investments case.
The court, designated for ED cases, while taking the ED chargesheet into consideration, directed Jagan, Vijaya Sai, Pratap Reddy and representatives of Caramel Asia Ltd, Janani Infra Ltd, Indira Television and Jagathi Publications owned by Jagan Mohan Reddy and representatives of Penna Cements, PR Energy Holdings Ltd, Penna Tandur Cements and Pioneer Holidays Ltd owned by Pratap Reddy to appear before it on March 16.
The ED in its chargesheet informed the court that during Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy’s regime, the erstwhile AP Government had allotted 230 acres in Yadiki mandal of Ananthapur and 304 and 74 hectares in Kurnool district to Penna Group. The Group had in return invested '25 crore in Jagathi Publications and '23 crore in Caramel Asia Ltd and money was routed through suit case companies into both companies owned by Jagan.
The ED charged the accused under Sections 3 and 4 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
