Young MP spars with SW Railway over train to Mysuru
Pratap Simha is bent upon extending the Udyan Express to Mysuru
Bengaluru: The issue of extending the Bengaluru-Mumbai Udyan Express up to Mysuru has led to a Twitter war between Mysuru-Kodagu BJP MP Pratap Simha and South-Western Railway.
The young MP took to Twitter and said, “Guys, as far as extending the Udyan Express to Mysuru is concerned, Bengaluru division is unnecessarily raising objections. South Western Railways knows this. But I will not leave.”
Reacting to the tweet, the divisional railway manager said, “Probably you have no idea of the Railway’s working. Once a letter is written by the Zonal HQ to Railway Board, there is no relevance of any division’s objection (if any as you have assumed). The decision is not of the division. It is to be decided by the Railway Board.”
However, speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Simha reiterated that Bengaluru division is creating unnecessary road blocks. “I know how to tackle this and bulldoze their attempts. The Lok Sabha session is beginning in 15 days. I will get it done,” he maintained.
Meanwhile, Bengaluru passengers fear that their reservation quota will get affected if the train is extended to Mysuru. Simha, however, maintained that people from Mysuru will get only a small chunk of the quota and the major chunk will still be available to passengers from Bengaluru.
