Visakhapatnam: The government should clear the outstanding dues of the sugarcane growers of Govada sugar factory by March 30, said YSRC leader Botsa Satyanarayana. On Wednesday, Mr. Satyanarayana submitted a representation to district collector Dr. N. Yuvraj regarding the accumulated dues to the farmers.

Mr. Satyanarayana said that about 24,000 farmers have been supplying sugarcane to the factory over the last few decades. “The dues total  to Rs 7.5 crore. We will intensify our stir  if the payments aren’t released. The TD government policies’ had thrown the factory into Rs 20-crore losses. The nexus between the ruling party and officials are evident which has become a bane to the farmers of the region,” he said. Mr. Satyanarayana reminded the district collector about the JC J. Nivas’ promise of resolution of the issue.
