HYDERABAD: After being warned by the Telangana High Court which initiated contempt notices for not implementing its order, the Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi has submitted before the court that the government was taking steps to register the housing units to the purchasers in the Indu Aranya project at Bandlaguda, near Nagole.

Submitting an explanation on behalf of the state, the CS filed a counter-affidavit before the court explaining that the Telangana State Housing Board would immediately start the registration after completion of the audit of revenues from the project.

Considering the CS’s submission the court adjourned the matter to March 19.

The court on Tuesday issued contempt notices to the Chief Secretary of the state government for not following its direction over registration of flats and villas in the Indu Aranya project at Bandlaguda.

In January 2019, Justice P. Naveen Rao had issued contempt notices against the CS to explain why the contempt proceedings should not be taken against him for non-implementation of the court’s direction, while hearing a petition to initiate contempt proceedings against the state government over its failure to enforce the HC order to register flats in favour of the purchasers who made payments.

The flats were developed by a joint venture of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh Housing Board and Indu Projects Limited but their registration was stalled after the CBI filed a case against Indu Projects, in the YSRC President Jagan Mohan Reddy’s illegal investment case.
