1 dead in Noida BMW hit-and-run case, driver on the run

New Delhi: Out of the three people who were injured in the BMW hit-and-run case in Nodia, one man succumbed to his injuries Saturday night at the Safdarjung Hospital.

Gulfam Ali, 20, was rushed to the hospital after being run over by a speeding BMW car near Noida stadium.

The condition of the two others, who got injured as the BMW hit another car and a bike, is said to be stable.

The accident happened around 11:30 am on Saturday near gate number 7 of Noida stadium in Sector 24, after which the driver of the BMW fled immediately, leaving his car at the accident spot.

The driver is still absconding.

According to Ravi Sharma, a local resident, the BMW hit the people while they were standing near a pan shop.

"The driver of my car, Raja, has also sustained injuries in his leg. At least four people have been injured, out of whom one of them is critically injured and is in the ICU of Prakash Hospital," he said.

Saturday's mishap comes 12 days after 32-year-old marketing executive Siddharth Sharma was killed while crossing a road near Ludlow Castle School in Civil Lines by a speeding Mercedes car driven by a minor.
