Hyderabad: Expressing displeasure over the progress of development projects in the city, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority Commissioner T. Chiranjeevulu warned staff that they would be suspended from their duties and have fines imposed for any further delays. The commissioner opined that there has been neither any change in file-flow nor decrease in the level of corruption, even though all processes are now registered online.
According to highly placed sources, the HMDA commissioner held a meeting to review the progress of projects undertaken.
While reviewing the progress in the planning wing, it was brought to his notice that the wing has seen no advancement for the past two years. The faulty master plan prepared by the planning wing has allowed for high-level corruption, and the officials who have been in charge of the work have been disowning their responsibilities. The HMDA commissioner has asked officials of all departments to set targets and complete them according to the stipulated time.
Mr Chiranjeevulu sought written explanation from the officials and warned them of suspension if the projects are further delayed and added that salaries too would be deducted if the delays continued.
