Death toll due to heat wave in Telangana rises to 300
The highest of 90 deaths reported from the worst drought affected Nalgonda district followed by Mahabubnagar with 44.
Hyderabad: The death toll due to heat wave and related issues during the current summer season in Telangana rose to 300.
The state disaster management authorities informed that the three member committees set up at district level confirmed that all these deaths were occurred due to sun stroke and heat wave related problems.
The highest of 90 deaths reported from the worst drought affected Nalgonda district followed by Mahabubnagar with 44.
Meanwhile, the Hyderabad Met office informed that there was marked fall in the maximum temperatures at one or two places in the state.
It also warned that thunderstorm accompanied with squall is very likely to occur at a few places in Telangana during next three days.
However, the highest day time temperatures of 44 degrees Celsius were recorded at Ramagundam and Adilabad during the past 24 hours.
