Hyderabad: Security guard electrocuted

Police said that M. Roi, hailing from UP came into contact with a loose cable.

Hyderabad: A 53-year-old contract security guard was electrocuted at a substation in Narayanaguda on Monday. Police said that M. Roi, hailing from UP came into contact with a loose cable near an electric motor on the premises of the substation while  taking bath.

Police said M. Roi, 53, came to Medak district and was staying in Toopran since five years. Eight months ago, he married a woman named Hameeda Begum and converted to Islam. He changed his name to Md Mateen and shifted to Kacheguda.Two weeks ago he joined as a guard with Hawk Security Services.

On Monday at around 8 am, he went to take bath near the electric motor on the premises. “He came in contact with the loose cable of the motor and suffered a shock,” SI Sheikh Kaviuddin said. He was rushed to hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Based on a complaint from his wife, a case for suspicious death has been registered and the body was handed over to the family after postmortem. Police is investigating.
