Hyderabad: Bid to help mishap-hit kills man

A good samaritan who tried to rescue an accident victim on the Outer Ring Road was run over by a speeding car on Tuesday night.

Hyderabad: A good samaritan who tried to rescue an accident victim on the Outer Ring Road was run over by a speeding car on Tuesday night. The person whom the man tried to help also succumbed. From the mobile number written on the car windshield, the Good Samaritan was identified as Srinivas Reddy of  Rampally village in Keesara mandal.

According to police, the accident occurred near the exit gate No 19 in Tukkuguda village limits. Srinivas was going in his car (TS 08UA 1489) from Shamshabad towards Pahade-shareef. When he reached the exit gate, he noticed a man who had just met with an accident and lying in a pool of blood on the road. 

He stopped his car by the roadside, got down and was walking towards the injured man to help him when the speeding car hit him and sped away. Srinivas was flung in the air and fell at a distance and died instantly.

ORR patrol teams rushed to the spot and, with the help of the mobile number on Srinivas’s car, they identified him and alerted his family members. The identity of the other victim is yet to be known. The two bodies were taken away for autopsy.
