GHMC to inaugurate air conditioning bus shelters
The shelters have been divided into four grades advanced, proficient, basic and minimal based on the space and facilities provided.
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to inaugurate three air-conditioned bus shelters in the city. The bus shelters have been constructed near Shilparamam, Khairatabad RTA office and near Fever Hospital at Nallakunta. Each bus shelter has been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 25 lakh.
A GHMC official claimed that the bus shelters would be inaugurated by the minister for municipal administration and urban development K.T. Rama Rao next week. They said that the corporation has decided to construct as many as 826 bus shelters.
The shelters have been divided into four grades advanced, proficient, basic and minimal based on the space and facilities provided.
The advanced shelters will have dustbins, toilets for men and women, mobile charging points, water dispensing unit on pay and use (optional), WiFi, ATM/coffee vending machine (optional), air-conditioning (optional), fan, CCTV cameras, and a ticketing machine to be installed later.
The proficient shelters will have dustbins, toilets, mobile charging, water dispenser (optional), WiFi, CCTV cameras, fan, and a ticketing machine to be installed later. The basic shelters will have dustbins, phone charging, toilet (optional), water dispenser (optional), and CCTV cameras while the minimal ones will be equipped with dustbins and surveillance cameras. The premium set to accrue to GHMC from all 826 shelters in the first year is pegged at over Rs 6 crore.
