Visakhapatnam: The Government Railway Police (GRP) in Visakhapatnam detained 26 children (all boys below 12 years and from Muslim community) along with five guardians, who reportedly boarded Muzaffarpur-Yeshwanthpur express Muzaffarpur in Bihar to join Madarasa Tajweedul Quran in Kasargod, Kerala and few other places.

The GRP officials suspected initially that it could be a case of human trafficking as the children were not accompanied by their parents. They were handed over to the Child Welfare department in Vizag for further action. The Intelligence Bureau officials after interacting with the children did not find any wrong in the group.

Local lawyer dealing with the minority cases Salim Abdus said that every year the children are brought back home for the Ramzan festival and sent back to the Madrasas.
