Tamil Nadu Assembly session to end on June 23
The first session began on Thursday morning with the customary Governor's Address.
CHENNAI: First session of the 15th Tamil Nadu Assembly that began on Thursday will end on June 23 after taking up the debate on the Motion of Thanks to the Governor’s address.
The first session began on Thursday morning with the customary Governor’s Address and on Friday, the House will be adjourned after paying condolences to the death of S.M. Seenivel, MLA from Thiruparankundram, who died a week after he was elected to the Tamil Nadu House. On Monday next, the House will take up the debate on Motion of Thanks to the Governor’s Address, which is expected to continue till Wednesday. Members of all political parties represented in the House will participate in the debate that will last for three days.
On Thursday (June 23), Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa will reply to the Motion of Thanks after which the House is expected to take some unlisted legislative agenda. The decision to continue the session till June 23 was taken at the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the Tamil Nadu Assembly headed by Speaker P. Dhanapal.
