Hyderabad: The Hyderabad HC has set aside contract awarded to Piramal Swasthya Manag-ement and Research Insti-tute (PSMRI) (formerly call as HMRI) to run 104 services in the state of AP.

The court made it clear that the government shall continue the services of  Piramal institute till the completion of fresh tender process.

Justice A. Ramalinges-wara Rao, while setting aside the contract, found fault with the decision-making process of the AP government in awarding the tender to PSMRI by pointing out that there was no government order enabling the commissioner of health and family welfare to enter into a service agreement.

While holding that the actions taken by commissioner without any authority of law, the judge  directed the government to issue a fresh notification for inviting tenders for the said services and select the agency  by August 31, 2017.
