Hyderabad: With the emergence of additional details pertaining to the land scam case, the registration department has decided to frame charges against errant sub-registrar Saleha Quadeer.

The Telangana State Stamps and Registration Department conducted an internal probe in which it found that sub-registrar Saleha Qadeer had failed to collect stamp duty on a relinquishment deed filed by G. Vijayalakshmi, the daughter of Telangana Rashtra Samithi MP K. Kesava Rao, and others.

The probe also revealed that registration of the document had been completed without submission of details of the Record of Rights.

A high-level official from the Stamps and Registration Department says, “We are framing charges against the Sub-Registrar who has already been suspended by the department. She resorted to several irregularities during the registration of 50 acres of land at Hafeezpur. Stamp duty of Rs 2.78 lakh was to have been paid by G. Vijayalakshmi and others for registration of the Relinquishment Deed, but the sub-registrar failed to collect this amount. The land is on the prohibited list; when the concerned parties showed her the court order, she should have contacted senior officials. However, she went ahead with the registration without consulting any senior officials.”

The official said, “Virgo Tech quoted a 1958 case with Civil suit number 14. The official value is Rs 1.25 crore. However the sale consideration was mentioned in the deed at the rate of Rs 25,000 for each of 50 acres of land,”

Kesava Rao’s daughter, Gadwal Vijayalaxmi, is a TRS Corporator from Banjara Hills. She, along with her sister-in-law Kancharla Nava Jyothi and another lady named Jyotsna, entered into an agreement to purchase the land in question in 2013. The land was registered in 2015.
