Hyderabad: The raids by the ACB against corrupt government officials are not going down well with the intended targets and some of them have complained to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.  This resulted in the CM telling Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on Sunday that the raids by the Anti Corruption Bureau have to be more “scientific” and based on hard evidence lest innocent government officials be wrongly accused.

Sources have told this newspaper that some officials holding plum posts in state agencies who fear they may be targets, complained to the Chief Minister about the ACB’s proceedings, painting it as a form of harassment. In a review meeting with irrigation department staff headed by Mr Rao last week, officials reportedly briefed the CM about the arrest of irrigation & CAD chief engineer K. Suresh Kumar
