Shocker to many as Andhra Pradesh Bar Council results trickle in

Hyderabad: Lawyers who allegedly spent huge sums in the recently held elections to the Bar Council of AP are crying foul with the announcement of first round of results on Monday.
The returning officer announced that advocates Chalasani Ajay Kumar (Vijayawada) A. Rami Reddy (Ananthpur) and B.V. Krishna Reddy (Eluru) have been elected as members of the council with 879 (magic figure) first preference votes. Advocate K. Chidambaram (Hyderabad), who had secured 870 votes, was also elected with second preference votes. The elections were held to pick 25 members to the council. While 107 advocates were in the fray, 23, 584 advocates cast their votes. The counting started on July 11 and will end on July 23.
