Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police has warned houseowners renting homes to foreign nationals, without informing the authorities. In a recent survey conducted, police identified 560 foreign nationals residing in Rachakonda. Of these 155 of them were not residing at the address given by them. Police said that these residents may have moved out for education, but the owners were unaware of their where abouts.

After the survey, restriction orders were served against 11 foreign nationals. Three from Nigeria, three from Sudan, two from Tanzania and one each from Congo, Rwanda and South Africa. Three have been deported and the police are in the process of deporting eight others.

Commissioner Mahesh  Bhagwat said, “Any houseowner renting to foreign nationals should verify their documents and get them registered with the Foreigner Regional Registration Offices.” We are sensitising houseowners and have seen a change. If owners do not follow this process, they are liable for action as per the law, he said.
