Kochi: Cyber security meet to begin tomorrow
The two day session will see over 60 presentations on various issues connected with cyber security by globally acclaimed speakers.
Kochi: Delegates from 10 countries will deliberate on four security domains at the 10th edition of Cocoon, a two day Hacking and Cyber Security session organised by Kerala Police in Kochi on Aug 18 and 19. Aruna Sunderrajan, secretary department of telecommunications, will inaugurate the event on Friday while Dr Ajeet Bajpai, retired director general of National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Centre, will deliver the valedictory address on Saturday.
Other key speakers include Ms. Bessie Pang, Executive director of POLYCB (Society for Policing the cyberspace, Canada, Ms.Betsy Broder, Counsel for International Consumer Protection at the US Federal Trade Commission. Dr. Parry Aftab, a digital privacy/security lawyer, Cecilia Wallin, Criminal Intelligence Officer at INTERPOL Crimes against Children, Lee Hwee Hsiung, Head of Department - Cyber Security Professional Development (CSPD), Malaysia and Omar Mohammad Hasan Alood Al Teneiji, Lt. Colonel, RAK Police Headquarters, UAE will also address the sessions.
Senior police officials from other states and security experts from agencies such as NIA, CBI, Intelligence Bureau, RAW and NCRB will also attend the two day event.
Cocoon was aimed at providing a platform to discuss, showcase, educate, understand and spread awareness on the latest trends in information, cyber and hi-tech crimes, said an official release about the event.
