Hyderabad: Legal Metrology Department books 62 cases against businesses
They were several complaints that the traders were selling goods at old prices.
Hyderabad: The Legal Metrology Department booked 62 cases against businesses and commercial institutions after a raid conducted in Greater Hyderabad Region on Thursday.
A total of 18 groups with 36 members raided a number of organisations based on consumer complaints of products being sold at outdated prices despite the central government reducing the GST. Controller for Legal Metrology Akun Sabharwal said, “The Central government reduced GST on some products, but these benefits are nor reaching the consumers. They were several complaints that the traders were selling goods at old prices”. Instructions were further dispensed to officials from the department to check that the products are sold according to the new price after the deduction of GST.
