Thiruvananthapuram: MBBS joining date postponed
The PSC postponed all examinations including departmental tests, interviews and certificate verification scheduled for August 17 and 18.
Thiruvananthapuram: Commissioner for entrance examinations has extended the last date for joining medical and dental colleges from August 17 to 5 p.m. on August 19 as many find it difficult to reach the designated colleges within the stipulated time due to heavy rains.
The PSC postponed all examinations including departmental tests, interviews and certificate verification scheduled for August 17 and 18.
Directorate of Higher Secondary Education and Directorate of Vocational Higher Secondary Education postponed the first year improvement and supplementary examinations scheduled for Friday.
The new dates will be announced later.
Those who could not join MBBS and BDS courses before the date will be given another chance to report at the old auditorium of Thiruvananthapuram Medical College till 5 p.m. on August 20, the date fixed for mop-up allotment to fill the vacant seats, CEE P. K. Sudheer Babu told DC.
Vacant seats if any under MBBS, BDS courses remaining after the stipulated date will be filled up through a mop-up counselling on August 21 by the CEE here.
In the mop-up counselling, the candidates allotted and admitted to BDS course will be considered for allotment to the vacant seats under MBBS course.
However, those who stand admitted under All India Quota MBBS and BDS seats will not be allowed to participate.
