Hyderabad: Opposition leader in the Assembly K. Jana Reddy has asked Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to divulge why he was going in for early polls when people have voted him to power for five years.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, he said if Mr Rao decided to go in for simultaneous polls there would be no problem adding that if Assembly elections are held separately it would become a financial burden on the people.

Mr Jana Reddy wanted the government to implement all the assurances given to the people if elections are held after six months. He questioned the logic of early elections without implementing the assurances.

He said that the Congress was ready to face the polls whenever they are held.

Mr Jana Reddy said that the Congress high command would decide whether he would contest for the assembly or Lok Sabha. He said that the Congress’ alliance with other parties would be according to public opinion.
