Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Friday refused to pass an interim order prohibiting celebration of Hyderabad Liberation Day on September 17 in Warangal.
Justice M.S. Ramachandra Rao was dealing with a petition by Captain Lingala Panduranga Reddy seeking to declare the action of the Warangal collector in not considering his representation not to accord permission for celebrating September 17 as Hyderabad Liberation Day in Warangal as illegal. Captain Reddy said that celebrations in the name of Hyderabad Liberation Day will lead to communal tension. While refusing to the grant interim order, the judge issued notice to the respondent and adjourned the matter.
