Students of private schools wrote the quarterly exams as per schedule.
CHENNAI: Even as private schools association extended its support to the bandh called by farmers’ unions, many schools in Tamil Nadu remained open on Friday. Students of private schools wrote the quarterly exams as per schedule. But school vans and autos stayed off roads on Friday. “We send our daughter to school by auto. Since autos were not plying today I dropped her at the school,” said Devaraj.
His daughter is studying in a private school in West Mambalam. “Except a few, most of the private schools in the state remained closed on Friday. Our aim is the safety of students,” K.R. Kannappan said, “Government and government-aided schools functioned as usual today. Some private schools in the districts and a few nursery schools were closed. But no untoward incidents
happened during the bandh.”
