Mock rescue drill by defence at Hussainsagar on September 22 and 23

The battalion will use boats and helicopters to rescue people stranded in the submerged colony.

Hyderabad: On September 22 and 23, a flooding scenario will be created at Hussainsagar and all the three wings of the Indian Defence force— Army, Air Force and Navy will carry out a mock drill rescue operation. 

The battalion will use boats and helicopters to rescue people  stranded  in the submerged colony. A colony set up (houses) made of cardboard is under creation at the Hussainsagar. 

The exercise is titled ‘Pralay Sahayam,’ conceptualised as humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) exercise in association with the government of TS in conjunction with the armed forces. The exercise is based on urban flooding scenario in the twin cities.
