Kozhikode: Government public prosecutor C. Shukkur has filed a complaint with Kasargod police chief to initiate action against Hindu Aikya Vedi leader Sasikala teacher for her inflammatory speeches.

The complainant had provided video and audio CDs of Sasikala teacher’s speeches and alleged that her words were aimed at threatening communal harmony.

“The complainant had given CDs of speeches held in various places in different times. None of the speeches was made in Kasargod. We will proceed after seeking legal opinion,” said Kasargod superintendent of police Thomson Jose.

Police sources say some of the speeches attached with the complaint were close to communally charged ones.

It was Mr Shukkur's complaint that the police slapped the UAPA against Salafi preacher Shamsuddeen Palath recently. Nadakkavu police invoked UAPA against Mr Palath for his two provoking speeches made at Karaparamba in Kozhikode in 2014.
