Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is to set up five types of surveillance systems in each constituency of Hyderabad district to ensure strict observance of the electoral code of conduct.  The surveillance systems are Flying Squads, Static Surveillance Teams, Video Surveillance Teams, Video Viewing Teams and Accounting Teams.

At the meeting on Tuesday of 15 returning officers in Hyderabad district and nodal officials in various departments, Hyderabad District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner M Dana Kishore said that measures are being taken to ensure that the upcoming elections are transparent and non-controversial.

In every constituency there should be at least three or more flying squads, static surveillance teams and video surveillance teams. Retuning officers will have to set up the three teams and submit their details to the Joint Collector of Hyderabad, the nodal officer to implement the election code of conduct. Likewise, an officer along with two clerks will be deputed for video viewing in each constituency, while one officer and a clerk member will be deputed to the accounting team.
