AP High Court Postpones Bail Petition of Naidu to October 19

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has posted further hearing on the bail petition filed by jailed Chandrababu Naidu in the skill scam case to Oct 19.

The court delivered the orders after counsel for Naidu requested time to present his side of the argument. The ACB special court in Vijayawada had dismissed the bail petition of Naidu, following which the TD chief filed the bail petition in the high court.

In another petition filed by Naidu’s advocates for the issuing of regular health bulletins on Chandrababu’s health conditions while in jail, the ACB court started the hearing and asked the AP CID to file the counter.

The hearing of Ramoji Rao and Sailaja Kiron's quash petition in the AP High Court in the case of the alleged threatening and illegal transfer of some shares was adjourned to Wednesday.

Yuri Reddi, the son of Gadireddi Jagannath Reddi, one of the founders of Margadarshi Chit Funds, has filed a complaint with the AP CID, that his shares in Margadarshi were transferred to the firm’s top functionary Sailaja Kiran's name, using forged signatures and documents. He claimed that he was forced to transfer the shares at gunpoint.

An FIR was registered under Sections 420, 467, 120-B, read with IPC section 34 against Ramoji Rao as the first accused and Sailaja Kiran as the second accused.

In this issue, Ramoji Rao and Sailaja filed a quash petition in the high court, challenging the CID’s FIR. Supreme Court advocate Siddhartha Luthra, who was arguing on behalf of Chandrababu in the skill development case, would be counsel also for Ramoji and Sailaja.

CID counsel told the court that the agency would not take any strong action against Ramoji till Wednesday, and the high court stated that the arguments from both sides would be heard.

In a separate development, Telugu Desam leader and Nara Lokesh’s close aide, Kilaru Rajesh, skipped the questioning of the AP CID on Tuesday. The investigation agency called Rajesh to attend the questioning with documents but Rajesh sent an email stating that he would attend the questioning after Dasara festival as documents were currently unavailable.
