Andhra Pradesh to collect Rs 1 extra per litre of fuel

Hyderabad: To strengthen the Andhra Pradesh Road Development Corporation, the state government has decided to collect Rs 1 per litre petrol and diesel as road fund.

With this, the government expects to collect approximately Rs 600 crore per year. The AP government wants to provide Rs 900 crore as dedicated fund to the RDC to improve road network in the state.

The Centre allots Rs 200 crore per year to the state under Central road cess. From now onwards, these funds will be allotted to the RDC. The state government will get another Rs 100 crore from the National Highways Authority for laying national highways within the state.  These funds will also be given to the RDC.
