BENGALURU: A six-year-old child died while 14 other students were injured when a private school bus collided with a KSRTC bus near Dodda Maralawadi on Kanakapura Road on the city outskirts on Thursday morning. Rash and negligent driving by the school bus driver is blamed for the incident.

The deceased has been identified as Charan, son of Ganesh, a farmer and a resident of Maralawadi. Among the 14 injured, the condition of two students is said to be critical. They were students of Annapoorneshwari Gurukula school in Maralawadi. Police said that the incident occurred around 9.15 am, when the school bus was just a kilometre away from the school. The bus driver was allegedly speaking over the mobile phone and came to the opposite lane and collided head on with a Harohalli bound KSRTC bus.
