Hyderabad: IPS International School sends 5 kids out
Parents staged a protest in the school premises.
Hyderabad: Over five students of IPS International School, Malakpet, three of whom were from lower kindergarten (LKG), were allegedly asked to stand outside their classes until their parents came and paid the fees.
The mother of a three-year-old student of the school said, “We paid the fee Rs 7,000 as fees amount. They asked for an additional Rs 5,000 as maintenance charges just a few days ago. We asked for 10 days to arrange for the money, but on Thursday we received a call informing us that our children would not be allowed to enter their classes until the amount was paid.”
Parents allege that the school authorities used vulgar language against them when they complained about their children being made to sit in the sun. Bhasi, a parent, said, “The fee structure of the school is such that we have to pay it in instalments for each term. However, this time, the school started demanding the entire fee in October, which was difficult for a few parents to pay. When we tried to speak to the authorities, they started using vulgar language in front of our children.”
The school authorities claim that it is time for parents to pay the second instalment and that the school has not suddenly started making new demands. “We have not increased our fees. We have been following the same system for years. A lot of parents are saying that there are four months to go for the next term to begin, but we have always collected fees before the start of December,” said an official from the school.
