Hyd: 5-yr-old boy's uniform covered in bloodstains after teacher beats him
'No child was hurt, it was just a playful quarrel among children, but the teacher took very strict action against him,' the inspector said.
Hyderabad: Khaja Latifuddin, a five-year-old student of Sacred Heart School, Tarnaka, was mercilessly beaten by his class teacher on Thursday evening.
The student’s parents registered a complaint at the Osmania University (OU) police station after noticing bloodstains on his school uniform. They found that the teacher had used a thick stick to beat the child.
Teacher taken into custody
“We received a complaint that the child was bleeding after being beaten up by his teacher and we sent him for a medical test. He had two wounds on his back,” OU inspector V Ashok Reddy said.
“We have registered a case under Section 324 of the IPC for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons, and also under the relevant sections of the Juvenile Justice Act,” he added.
The student's class teacher, Kumudini, was taken into custody. She claimed she had hit the child because he had hit two other students from his class.
“No child was hurt. It was just a playful quarrel among children, but the teacher took very strict action against him,” the inspector said.
The school authorities have said that they will take a decision regarding the employment of the teacher after conferring with all concerned parties.
