Vijayawada: Alleging that the NDA government misused the CBI thereby damaging the reputation of the highest investigation agency in the country, Yerneni Veda Vyas, the advocate from Vijayawada who was behind the issuance of the GO withdrawing consent to the CBI, said that he was forced to repeatedly write to the state government to take action.

Speaking to this newspaper, Mr Vyas said that misusing CBI and other Central agencies to destabilise governments in states ruled by the opposition parties has increased in NDA rule. “I observed the systematic damage to democracy and studied the rules governing the CBI,” Mr Vyas said.

“The internal conflicts in the CBI reflect the corruption and irregularities in the investigation agency and people are losing faith in it. I had appealed to the AP government to withdrawn consent to avoid misuse of CBI but it was not considered by the government. After the increase in the number of I-T raids in AP, I once again filed an appeal with the state Chief Secretary,” Mr Vyas said.
