Telangana Assembly elections: BJP in wait-and-watch mode over candidate list
Taking advantage of the situation, the BJP is planning to attract them by offering tickets from the party.
Hyderabad: With only two days left for nominations to close, the BJP has not announced its complete list as it is waiting for more leaders of the Congress and TRS to join it. The Telangana BJP wants to lure rebel candidates of the Congress and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). Both the TRS and the Congress are facing trouble with rebels and are in a hurry to cool them. Taking advantage of the situation, the BJP is planning to attract them by offering tickets from the party.
The BJP had earlier announced 66 candidates in two phases and on Thursday night, nominated another 20 names in the third list. The BJP has also decided to give one seat to the Yuva Telangana party which has recently allied with them. The remaining seats are yet to be announced. It may be recalled that former TRS MLA Bodige Shobha has joined the BJP, as the TRS denied her a ticket. The BJP is expecting that in the similar way other rebel candidates of Congress and TRS would join the party
As and when the election heat began, the BJP was seen attracting leaders of other parties. The BJP had a bitter experience in this process. It was left in shock after Mrs. Padmini, wife of former Deputy Chief Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha joined the party and returned to the Congress the same day. After this, the BJP is working carefully to lure dissident candidates of the opposition.
