Hyderabad: The Lumbini Park located  near the Telangana Secretariat  will be closed for the public on December 18 and 19 as the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind will visit the monolith statue of Buddha at Tank Bund to pay floral tributes on Tuesday. The President will be in the city for the closing ceremony of the World Telugu Conference (WTC) and is scheduled to visit the statue on December 19. As part of security arrangements, Lumbini Park which is the way to the statue, will be closed for the public on two days, officials said.

The President will be welcomed at Begumpet Airport. All departments have been directed to have welcome arches and hoardings. Also, the day the President arrives, there will be traffic regulation, bandobust and security arrangements in and around Necklace Road. Officials said that the President will leave for national capital after garlanding the statue on the same day. As part of his official winter stay in Rashtrapathi Nilayam at Bolarum, Ram Nath Kovind will arrive in the city on December 23.
