PM Modi to meet Cyclone Ockhi victims on December 19

Mr Modi will reach Mangalore airport at 12.15 am on December 19.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Kerala, Lakshadweep and Tamil Nadu to meet cyclone victims on December 19. Mr Modi will reach Mangalore airport at 12.15 am on December 19. From there, he will board a special flight to Lakshadweep in the morning. They are expected to reach Agatti airport at Lakshadweep and hold talks with local officials at Kavaratti. 

He will then fly directly to Thiruvananthapuram and is expected to reach by 1.50 pm. BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan told this newspaper that earlier the PM was expected to reach Kochi, but changed it to Mangalore. “BJP state leadership has requested to the PMO to ensure the PM visits the coastal area at Poonthura in Thiruvananthapuram and meet the families of affected fishermen there. We are awaiting a final confirmation from the PMO,” Mr Kummanam said.

Mr Modi will leave for Kanyakumari at 2.45 pm and is expected to return to Thiruvananthapuram by 4.45 pm. On his arrival in the capital city, Mr Modi will hold talks with state government officials on Cyclone Ockhi. As per the current plans, Mr Modi is expected to return to New Delhi by 6.05 pm on the same evening.
