Eight chargesheeted for honey-trap scandal in MP

The existing Telangana Lok Ayukta Act, 1983, stipulates that the person to be appointed as Lok Ayukta shall be a retired Chief Justice of the High Court.

Bhopal: The police on Monday, filed chargesheet in the honey-trap scandal of Madhya Pradesh in a local court in Indore, naming eight people, including six women as accused.

The 390-page chargesheet, along with around 3,000 documents in support of the charges made against the accused, was filed in the Indore district court, police said.

While five accused in the scandal, Shweta Vijay Jain, Shweta Swapnil Jain, Barkha Soni, Arti Dayal, Monica Yadav and their driver were currently in police custody following their arrests a month ago, the two other accused, Rupa and Abhishek were still absconding.

The accused have been charged with indulging in human trafficking, extortion, blackmailing and making public, material containing sexually explicit acts, violating privacy of some people, the investigating officer in the case said.
