Anantapur: Total 1,144 boys and girls are participating in the final rounds of cricket, football and hockey Under-11 and Under-18 leagues at Anantapur Sports Village.

The leagues, involving children of Anantapur and Sri Sathya Sai district, are being organised under the auspices of Anantapur Sports Academy-Rural Development Trust (ASA-RDT).

The final rounds of the Anantapur Football League have concluded for U-18 boys and U-13 boys and girls finals, showcasing the spirited display of talents and game spirit.

The final rounds of the cricket and hockey leagues are continuing. They are expected to be completed by December 24.

“Many opportunities are available in playing, coaching and refereeing fields at the Anantapur Sports Village,” said K.R. Kishore Babu, Grassroots Football coordinator.

ASA-RDT works with a three-point formula – Access, Educate and Empower. It creates opportunities at the grassroot level in Anantapur and Sri Sathya Sai districts. The grouping puts special emphasis on girls' participation in sports, enabling them to exercise their right to play.

The Anantapur leagues are supporting young athletes to take part in competitions and showcase their abilities and build their future in sports.
