BJP to call off Sabarimala stir tomorrow

Thiruvananthapuram: BJP’s indefinite fast before the secretariat on the Sabarimala issue will be called off on Saturday on the 48th day since it has been launched.

Since the Supreme Court is not considering the review petitions and writ petitions soon, the state leadership feels that it is better to call off the protest on the day the Sabarimala temple closes this season.

None of the BJP leaders came on record to reveal about what they attained out of their more than a month long protest which witnessed several hartals including a 49 year old Venugopalan Nair’s death in front of the Secretariat where he immolated himself.
