Services at RIMS not commence after resignation of 3 cardiologists, urologists
It is said that the three cardiologists who resigned had joined the post three months ago during a recruitment drive
ADILABAD: Services at the Superspeciality Hospital of the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) here did not commence as scheduled on Monday following the resignation of three cardiologists and an urologist contracting Covid-19.
RIMS Director Dr Jai Singh had earlier stated that the superspeciality services would start on Monday, in the cardiac, neurology, paediatrics and urology departments.
It is said that the three cardiologists who resigned had joined the post three months ago during a recruitment drive.
Patients who need treatment by superspecialists used to go to hospitals Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Yavatmal of Maharashtra. They had hoped that commencing superspeciality services at RIMS would help them avail of treatment locally but that has been put off for the present.
