Cyberdome opened at Technopark

Thiruvananthapuram: Cyberdome, the public-private-partnershiop initiative of the state police to enhance cyber security, was commissioned at Technopark here on Wednesday.

Techies in large numbers gathered at the launch function which was marked by a performance by Stephen Devassy and interaction with film star Nivin Pauly and Abrid Shine, director of the film 'Action Hero Biju'.

Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala who inaugurated the facility, considered to be the first of its type in the country, said that it would be a major leap in enhancing cyber forensic capabilities of the state police at a time when cyber crimes are increasing alarmingly. IT Minister P K Kunhalikutty who was also present on the occasion offered all support of the state IT department to the initiative.

Set up in Tejaswani building on Technopark, Cyberdome would be partnering with private cyber experts, including ethical hackers, on a voluntary basis and initiate steps to enhance cyber security of the state.

Additional chief secretary (Home) Nalini Netto, senior police officers including state police chief T P Senkumar, top officials of IT firms and Technopark officials were present on the inaugural session with was also marked by a commando show by state police was also staged as part of the inaugural event at Tehcnopark amphitheatre.
