Bengaluru: Kannada organisations have withdrawn the call for a Karnataka Bandh on February 19 and have decided to observe it as ‘black day’ in protest against the brutal attack on CRPF jawans near Pulwama in Kashmir Thursday last.

This decision was taken in view of the Kumbha Mela in T Narsipur taluk in Mysuru district, Mahamastakabhisheka in Karkala and the air show in Bengaluru.

Since lakhs of people are likely to move across the state for these events, the bandh may affect their travel plans and so it was decided to observe black day, said Vatal Nagaraj, former legislator and president of the Karnataka Chaluvali Vatal Paksha.
